Azerbaijan's ambassador to Guatemala Ilgar Mukhtarov has handed over his credentials to the President of this country Alvaro Colom Caballeros.
Mukhtarov conveyed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings to his Guatemala counterpart. He also extended Azerbaijan leader`s invitation to pay a visit to Azerbaijan.
The meeting saw a discussion of prospects for developing bilateral relations, energy cooperation, as well as expanding political ties. They also discussed cooperation in the field of education. The diplomat briefed about Azerbaijan`s history, culture, economic potential, its role in the region, as well as about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mukhtarov also met other top officials of this country, including Minister of Energy and Mines Romeo Rodriguez and deputy Minister of Economy Abel Cruz.
