The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 734 foreigners illegally residing in the country in October.
In order to identify and prevent illegal migration, cases of violation of the rules of temporary and permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, the Migration Service employees have carried out relevant activities, the State Migration Service told Trend.
The authorities discovered violation of administrative law by 939 foreigners last month. The decision was made to deport 619 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 115 foreigners based on state legislation, the Migration Service told Trend.
Some 66 foreigners the age of 16 years have not been brought to administrative responsibility.
Some 139 people were fined, and allowed to continue living in the country.
Last month, the service received 8,052 appeals from foreigners and stateless individuals to extend their term of stay in the country, to issue a permanent and temporary residence permit, to grant citizenship, to restore or to renounce citizenship, and to define their citizenship or refugee status, or issue or renew individual work permits.
Each appeal was individually considered in accordance with the country's laws.
