The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) defined media outlets that will provide free media space for pre-election campaign of MP candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections today. The Azerbaijani Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company will allow free air time and newspapers "Azerbaijan", "Khalg gezeti", "Republican" and "Bakinski rabochi" - free publications.
The free air time and publications will be applied towards the political parties or their electoral blocs, whose candidates passed registration in more than 60 constituencies.
The media outlets have also given the opportunity to provide a paid airtime or print space for MP candidates for the pre-election campaign. For this end, the media outlets must submit appropriate notice to the CEC and provide information about the conditions and amount of payment no later than 30 days after the official publication of the decision on holding the elections. After determining the subjects of the campaign, this information should be sent to them in accordance with the law.
