State Minister and Foreign Minister of Portugal Luís Filipe Marques Amado will visit Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov delivered the invitation to the Portuguese Minister during a meeting in New York within the participation in the 65th session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry said.
Foreign Minister of Portugal received the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart and promised to visit Azerbaijan during the year. The ministers also discussed the business forum for businessmen of both countries to strengthen economic relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal.
Foreign Minister of Portugal visited Azerbaijan in July this year. He met with his counterpart, and also Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev. During the visit, the parties signed the agreement on the ministerial consultations. They initialed the document for visa-free entry and departure of citizens with diplomatic and service passports.
