Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Celeste Wallander.
Wallander said the United State praised Azerbaijan's contribution to international anti-terrorist operations, in particular the country's efforts towards ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Mammadyarov hailed the fact “Azerbaijan and the United States enjoy close and all-round relations”.
He emphasized Azerbaijan's contribution to ensuring Afghanistan's security, adding “we also assist the country in developing its humanitarian and educational fields”.
