Slovak MP Frantisek Miklosko who illegally visited occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan was surprised to hear the news on including his name into the non-grata list in Azerbaijan.
He did not even understand why he was forbidden an entry into Azerbaijan. If any Azerbaijani enters Ukraine-Slovak border without Schengen visa it will be considered a gross violation of country entry rules. Slovakia will hardly be happy about such attitude of a stranger. The Azerbaijani state does not care if Miklosko is an individual or a MP.
“Must I inform Baku about my trip to Nagorno-Karabakh?” I was invited as an observer. I decided to go there,” he said.
He should inform Baku!. If Azerbaijani is invited to the city of Sturovo populated by Hungarians will he hesitate to inform official Bratislava about his intention to visit this small city in the south of Slovakia? He will not, of course.
“I was first chairman of the parliament of post-communist Slovakia in 1990-1992. I am famous as an independent politician with 20-year experience. I am not supposed to inform anybody about my trips,” Miklosko told Vesti.az agency.
He had to let Azerbaijan's authorities know about his plans to visit the sovereign part of its territory. The ban to enter Azerbaijan will be a good lesson for his disrespect.
“I stated in Karabakh that future of Karabakh lies in some kind of confederation of Azerbaijan,
Karabakh and Armenia, a kind of Benelux and all these countries should apply to the European Union to gain associated member status,” he said.
It is interesting how Miklosko takes an idea of creating a confederation of Slovakia, Hungary and predominantly Hungarian-populated south lands of Slovakia and their joining European Union as associated members?
