President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolence to President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil over loss of many human lives caused by the train crash.
“On behalf of myself and people of Azerbaijan, I offer my deep sympathies to You, families of the killed, all the people of India and wish speedy recovery to the wounded and injured,” the letter said
