President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an executive order to overhaul the Ajdarbey mosque in Baku.
The Baku Mayor's Office will receive 3 million manats from the President's Reserve Fund to carry out reconstruction work. The mosque was built in 1912-1913 with funding of philanthropist Ajdarbey Ashurbeyov. It is considered one of influential religious shrines.
