Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met Wednesday PACE president Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Mammadyarov said his country had fruitful cooperation with PACE in various spheres.
Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov noted the dispute must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. “After this, durable peace and security could be established in the region,” he added.
The Minister also underlined the world community should increase its attention to the issue.
For his part, Cavusoglu praised the ongoing democratic reforms in Azerbaijan, adding PACE will continue to support them.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Cavusoglu recalled the resolution 1416 on the dispute adopted by PACE in 2005.
He added the fact that a sub-committee on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will resume its activity will contribute to settling the dispute.
