“Municipal election in Azerbaijan was held in free, transparent and democratic atmosphere,” Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov told a news conference Wednesday.

Ali Ahmadov said municipal election marked a new chapter in the political history of Azerbaijan, adding election was conducted normally.

According to him, the third municipal election constitute a landmark in democratic development in Azerbaijan.

Ahmadov noted YAP seriously prepared for the municipal election. It allowed to conduct a successful election campaign.

“We believe YAP candidates have secured a convincing victory in the election,” added Ahmadov.
