Members of the U.S. Congress Working Group on Azerbaijan are planning to visit Azerbaijan, co-chair of the Working Group and Congressman from Texas Solomon Ortiz said.

Ortiz said they were working with Azerbaijan very closely.

“As you know, some members of working group on Azerbaijan do play an important role in Congress. We are talking to your embassy now. In a fact we are hoping that some times in August we may take a trip to Azerbaijan. We need just go down there because we are allies."

The Congressman reminded that recently they sent a letter about Azerbaijan to Chairwoman of the US Congress Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Mrs. Nita Lowey and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee Kay Granger.

“We have a good working relationship with Azerbaijan. The country plays an important role and we have been friends for many years. We want to be sure that the subcommittee understands that Azerbaijan will continue to be our friend."

Ortiz mentioned $10 million allocated by the House of Representatives for Nagorno-Karabakh in 2010 fiscal year and said the relevant actions would be taken after the coordination of the above-mentioned law between the Senate and the House of Representatives.

"If there is any help which we can provide to Azerbaijan we will do it," Ortiz said.
