“I believe particular cases of attack on Azerbaijanis must not be politicized,” Ukrainian Azerbaijanis’ Congress Chairman Akif Gulmammadov said in his comments on reports by Azerbaijani community in the Crimea about attacks on Azerbaijanis.
“This is a sporadic hooliganism. There is no deliberate attack on Azerbaijanis. The Crimea is a resort town and a lot of people from different countries come here especially in summer. It is misbehaviour and no more. Similar cases have occurred not only in the Crimea. There are hooligans in all cities and countries,” he said.
“We are taking all measures to prevent the harassment against our citizens in Ukraine. In such cases, we appeal to the law enforcement agencies and they immediately react to what is happening,” Gulmammadov said.
