Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Safar Abiyev met with Turkey’s Chief of Staff Ilker Basbug in Ankara, APA reports quoting Dogan agency.

Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan received the defense minister of Azerbaijan. Parties, according to the Premier`s press service, re-expressed mutual trust. “Turkey will not make any step in harm of Azerbaijan,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphaszied.

In meetings, present was also the Azeri ambassador to Turkey Zakir Hashimov.

"Turkey and Azerbaijan will remain friendly states", said Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev during his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA reports quoting “Haberturk”. The sides reconfirmed that there was an atmosphere of mutual trust between the two countries. According to Safar Abiyev, there can be no problems in Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and both states countries will stay as friendly countries.

Basbug welcomed Safar Abiyev in the official ceremony. State anthems of both countries were performed. Following this, Ilker Basbug and Safar Abiyev had a closed meeting in the headquarters.
