“Conflicts existing in the South Caucasus region threaten not only the region, but also the entire Europe. We witnessed it during the conflict between Russia and Georgia happened in August, 2008,” EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby told journalists. He added “the European Union is interested in resolving the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.”
According to the diplomat, “though the EU does not deal with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict directly, it backs the OSCE Minsk Group`s efforts towards settlement of the dispute.”
