Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov states the greater improvement of bilateral relations in period of his work in the country.
"It is pleasant for any ambassador to state when leaving that the relations between our countries in period of his mission have improved", announced Vasili Istratov Friday at a press conference in the office of the agency Interfax-Azerbaijan on completion of his mission in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, the diplomat confessed that the main contribution in the improvement of Azerbaijani-Russian relations belongs to the heads of the two states that established trustful relations on the personal level
"I hope that under the existing constant tendencies the new ambassador will also state improvement of relations between our countries while staying here", said Istratov.
As reported earlier, Vladimir Dorokhin is also appointed the new Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan. He has been the extraordinary envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry and regulated issues, connected with basing and functioning of the Black Sea fleet of Russia in Ukraine.
