"Azerbaijan has a serious problem with journalists".
"Azerbaijan has a serious problem in connection with imprisonment of journalists", said assistant deputy secretary of state Matthew Bryza in his interview to Azadlyg radio station.
"I spent much time in discussing the issue of possible halt of functioning of foreign radio stations with the officials of Azerbaijan. It is clear that the South Caucasus countries, including Azerbaijan, is not dictatorship. Much work must be done here.
We see that Azerbaijan continues efforts to create democratic institutions but much is to be done and the problem with journalists is especially serious", said Bryza.
