"President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev can not reject the signature, he put under the Meindorff declaration", said deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia from the faction of the Republican Party of Armenia Rafik Petrosyan, commenting on Aliyev's statements, he recently voiced following the adoption of the trilateral declaration.

He said the declaration clearly says that the Karabakh conflict must be settled peacefully by way of talks.

"Aliyev must put an end to the opinion about the forced resolution of the conflict. Otherwise, the world community will find due methods to avert such developments", noted the deputy.

Petrosyan voiced confidence that until the adoption of the next document, the peaceful negotiation process has no alternative. Commenting on the so-called Madrid principles, the parliamentarian noted: "The matter is the territorial integrity and the right of nations for self-determination. If these two principles are taken into account in the negotiation process, the status of Karabakh will be settled".

As for the rumors about the possible meeting of the Presidents of Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, initiated by Turkey, Petrosyan said: "History proved that Turkey and Russia always settled the problems, related to Armenia. There is certainly a threat in such meetings. Yet the Armenian powers must adhere to the interests of our state", noted he.
