Norwegian Foreign Ministry has released a statement regarding plans to halt broadcasting of foreign radio stations BBC, Liberty and Voice of America in Azerbaijan.

Day.Az reports with reference to the Azadlyg radio that the Norwegian Foreign Ministry supported the statements, fixing concerns about the plans to shutdown foreign radio stations.

The statement says that such a decision affects the development of pluralistic press in Azerbaijan.

"Norway attaches special importance to the development of democracy, jural state and human rights in its relations with Azerbaijan. The opportunity to use foreign news sources is an integral part of these issues.

Therefore, we regret about the plants of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council to close foreign radios in the country and we will discuss this issues with the government of Azerbaijan", reported the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
