The visit of US vice president Richard Cheney to Azerbaijan and the meetings he held, especially the one with the head of the state, prove that the United States even have not a yearly plan on the Caucasus region, which they consider to be strategically important, said head of the center of political innovations and technologies Mubariz Ahmedoghlu at a press conference on the political results of September.

He explained his statement saying that in the end of the year the US Secretary of State avoided the meeting with the Azerbaijani leadership, while in the mid of the year Azerbaijan was added to George Bush's "black list", connected with journalists, when the situation with press in the neighbor countries was even worse.

"Now the US vice president arrives in Baku and there are rumors about the possible visit of George Bush to Azerbaijan. There is a big policy of the United States in creation of the emergency situation in the South Caucasus", said Ahmedoghlu.

He considers that Cheney's proposal, voiced after the visit to Azerbaijan and Georgia about the need to invite Armenia, along with Azerbaijan and Georgia for the EU session on the energy issues, proves that the United States are not familiar or do not want to get familiar with the region.
