Several monitorings were held in the mass medias due to the coverage of agitation campaign of presidential elections in Azerbaijan and their results differ greatly, said head of the Yeni Nesil journalists' association Arif Aliyev, commenting on the mediatory results of the monitoring, his organization held in the framework of the program of the Council of Europe and European Commission "Fair and transparent elections.
He considers that different results, issued by the organizations, holding the monitoring of mass medias and TV channels, may confuse the public.
According to Aliyev, the difference is connected with methods, applied during the monitoring. He noted that methods, they use, fully meet the European standards and they are held by the experts, specializing in this sphere for long.
"On the whole, the gap in the results of the monitoring does not top 1% in other countries", said A.Aliyev.
Commenting on the results, the Yeni Nesil chairman noted that mass medias' interest in the presidential elections of Azerbaijan has declined since the start of the agitation campaign.
"The monitoring shows that materials on the working president of the country are prevailing on the TV channels. Yet, most of them are not related to the presidential elections, but are devoted to the official activity of the Azerbaijani President", said Aliyev.
He noted that materials on other candidates and on the overall elections make up 2% of air time at the public television. Aliyev noted that the attempt to balance information between all the candidates is recorded on ANS TV channel, while other TV channels devote 99% of air time, designed for elections, either to the president or the ministers, representing the Yeni Azerbaijan ruling party.
According to Aliyev, critical materials prevail mostly in printed medias.
