Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the attendees of international conference "Protection of political rights in Azerbaijan-new criteria", the President’s Press Service told APA.
The President stressed the importance of international conference in Baku.
Ilham Aliyev spoke about measures taken for democratization of society in Azerbaijan and stressed that more than 1 million refugees and IDPs had been driven out of their native lands as a result of Armenian occupation and their rights had been violated.
The President touched upon the economic development of the country, integration into EuroAtlantic institutions, and cooperation within the framework of the regional and international organizations.
The guests stated that they had witnessed economic advancement of the country.
