The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will arrange wide discussions on the coming presidential elections in Azerbaijan and the overall situation in the country, said Samed Seidov, head of the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan to PACE.
At the same time, he noted that the reports on Azerbaijan will be discussed several times by the monitoring committee before the June session.
Seidov did not rule out that the PACE co-rapporteurs on our country will visit Azerbaijan before the June session.
"We support the settlement of issues connected with Azerbaijan in the framework of the monitoring committee. Azerbaijan has been in the framework of this committee for several years. Some forces try to transfer the issues on Azerbaijan to other committee, appoint a new rapporteur on political prisoners. This is a destructive step, which will create tenseness between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe", Seidov said.
