Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 15.

The due announcement was made by Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of Azerbaijan.

At the same time he noted that the date is fixed in the Constitution which reads that presidential elections are held on the third Wednesday of October The official declaration of the date of elections will take place within 120 days before elections when candidates will be registered.

Panahov also announced that the process of definition of lists of voters, which involves structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defense along with district commissions, started in January.

The exact number of voters will be defined by late May, which now according to initial data, 4,834,584 people including 52% women have a right to vote.

The age group from 36 up to 55 years includes 2,020,925 people, from 19 to 35 years 1,864,120 people and over 56 years 894,056 people.
