It is not planned to appoint a special rapporteur on political prisoners of Azerbaijan in the near future.
APA reports that during a conference Kristina Ojuland noted that discussions on the issue are going on.
"As the Council of Europe does not want to interfere with the internal affairs of any country during the elections, the organization will undertake the appointment of a special rapporteur following the elections. A special monitoring on the said issue is also envisioned following the presidential elections".
