The Baku Appellate Court has received an appeal on the case of Ganimat Zahid, editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper, sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment.
The due announcement was made by reporter's defender Elchin Sadihov, Day.Az reports.
He said the appeal stresses the violation of articles 5 and 6 of the European Convention of Human Rights, passing the verdict of not guilty, payment of a compensation to the reporter.
It should be noted that a verdict regarding Ganimat Zahid, editor in chief of Azadlyg opposition newspaper and Baku resident Vusal Hasanov was passed in the Yasamal district court on March 7.
