Miklosh Kharashti, OSCE special representative for freedom of press, announced that imprisonment of Azadlg newspaper reporter Ganimat Zahid and his brother Mirza Sakit, as well as the attack against the reporter of the same newspaper Agil Halil have formed an atmosphere of pressure on reporters in Azerbaijan.
The due announcement was made by a source from the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.
At the same time, Kharashti condemned the stabbing of Agil Khalil and urged the government to investigate this issue.
"The incomplete investigation of the cases of reporters, who were subjected to pressure, inspires the criminals. The international community and Azerbaijani reporters are waiting for the investigation of the murder of editor-in-chief of the Monitor magazine Elmar Guseynov and punishment of people, who attacked the media representatives", Kharashti noted.
