Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on his election as the President of Russian Federation, President’s press service told APA.
The President stressed that Russia and Azerbaijan had been in tight relations for centuries.
"Our current intergovernmental relations originated from our nations’ strong will and goal is in the peak of strategic cooperation and partnership. I am sure that we will make every effort to maintain and further develop our union, continue mutual multipronged productive relations between Russia and Azerbaijan,” he said.
