"It is a pity that the powers of Azerbaijan carry out talks on introduction of amendments to the Election Code not with political parties but with the Venice Commission".
The due announcement was made by Gudrat Gasanguliyev, chairman of the Single Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan.
He said the talks should be carried out with the opposition. If the issue is considered in the sense of participation in elections, the process will be joined not by the Venice commission but by parties.
"The talks should be carried out with the parties which will participate in the presidential elections for changes to the Election Code to meet the demands of political structures, for confidence about fairness of elections and effectiveness of work of election commissions.
If the powers considered participation of opposition in the talks unnecessary, them it would be necessary to make their results public. It is necessary to learn the essence of new amendments", he noted.
