“We should withdraw our military forces from Iraq, like from Kosovo.
I will raise the issue on withdrawal of our military forces from Iraq,” chairman of the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev told APA.
The parliamentarian regarded this step as a right one to be taken by Azerbaijan. According to Gudrat Hasanguliyev, withdrawal of our peacekeeping forces from Kosovo is a decision meeting Azerbaijan’s national interests, official Baku is right in not recognizing Kosovo’s independence.
“It is also very important, as Azerbaijan has a problem like Nagorno Karabakh. Taking into account the position of Russia, Azerbaijan’s great neighbor and the country which backs Nagorno Karabakh problem, we can say that we took the right step,” he said.
Gudrat Hasanguliyev called on the opposition to unite in connection with this national issue and not to demonstrate a different position in order to be approved by foreign forces.
“The opposition should not behave like the authorities. In the majority of cases the authorities do not approve the issues raised by the opposition. The opposition should not behave so. Some forces consider that opposition should always oppose to the authorities. The opposition should control the actions of the authorities and protest when there are mistakes. The opposition should support the authorities on the issues meeting national interests,” he said.
