A court hearing on the case of imprisoned editor-in-chief of the Azadlyg newspaper Gazimat Zahid and Baku resident Vusal Gasanov was put off today in the Yasamal district court chaired by judge Sudaba Mamedova.

The due information has been provided by a source from the Court.

According to the source, the court over the reporter has been postponed for an indefinite term, not indicating the case of the delay.

Zahid's defender Elchin Sadyghov noted that the court has been postponed due to the illness of judge Sudaba Mamedova.

E.Sadyghov noted that the court has been put off until January 28.

It should be reminded that a preventive measure in a form of a two-day arrest was selected against Zahid by a decision of the Yasamal district court. The Baku Appellate Court has upheld the decision. G.Zahid is charged under articles 221 (hooliganism) and 127 (deliberate causing of harm to human health) of the Criminal Code.
