Lord Russell-Johnston, British member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and chairman of Nagorno Garabagh subcommittee, will visit Azerbaijan on February 7-9.
APA reports that the aim of the visit is to discuss preparations for the interparliamentary conference on the settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict.
Lord Russell-Johnston plans to have meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, speaker of the parliament Ogtay Asadov and parliamentarians representing different parties.
Lord Russell-Johnston had told APA that he offered to hold a conference with participation of Azerbaijani and Armenian parliamentarians in Strasbourg. The conference is planned to be held on April 18.
