Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov supports creation of subcommittee on frozen conflicts under the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE).

He said creation of such a committee will promote unbiased view of international organizations on conflicts.

"The Council of Europe is interested in the resolution of Nagorno-Garabagh conflict, therefore, creation of such a committee would be a benefit". He also mentioned that the settlement of the conflict is a priority issue in the external policy of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the proposal to create a subcommittee on frozen conflicts was  put forward by Andres Herkel, co-rapporteur of the Monitoring Committee for Azerbaijan.
