Five opposition parties of Azerbaijan discuss working out an appeal to the Council of Europe, as reported by the chief of the Central Administration of Musavat party Arif Gajili.
He also noted that the due resolution was adopted at a session on December 18, attended by five opposition parties, including Musavat, DPA, National Independence Party of Azerbaijan, Tereqqi and Public Forum "For the sake of Azerbaijan".
A representative of Musavat also announced that the appeal is connected with the state of freedom of speech and press in the country, amendments and alterations to the Electoral Code, freedom of assembly and execution of commitments, taken before the Council of Europe by the government.
"The appeal will fix shortages in the sphere of human rights in Azerbaijan and socioeconomic problems. It will contain request to the Council of Europe to demand the fulfillment of all commitments taken by the country before it and appoint a rapporteur on the problem of political prisoners in the country", Arif Gajili noted.
