Members of the committee for control over penitentiary service under the Ministry of Justice will submit a request to change a preventive punishment in the form of arrest for the editor-in-chief of the Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid.
The due statement was made by Ganimat Zahid's barrister Sahib Mamedov.
According to him, he had a meeting with Ganimat Zahid, who felt better and did not voice any complaints regarding the housing conditions.
"Ganimat Zahid is concerned over his arrest, which he considers to be unjustified" Mamedov noted.
He said human rights activists will submit the request right before the trial on Ganimat Zahid's case, which is to start on December 26.
