The discussions on the "Freedom of Media in the OSCE Region" were held at the session of the Helsinki Commission of the US Congress on December 13.
The participants touched upon the media freedom in Azerbaijan once again. According to the website of the commission, Azerbaijan was urged to decriminalize defamation and pass the due law.
The session participants voiced concern over the arrests of reporters in Azerbaijan and urged the government of the country to review issues, connected with media.
