A preliminary sitting of the court on the case of the imprisoned chief editor of the Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid will take place in the Yasamal district court on December 26.
The statement was made by reporter's barrister Elchin Sadyghov.
He said the materials on the case had been transmitted to judge Sudaba Mamedova.
The trial will start at 10:00 a.m.
It should be reminded that according to the decision of the Yasamal district court, G.Zahid has been applied a preventive measure in the form of a two-month arrest.
The Baku city Court of Appeal has retained the decision.
G.Zahid is charged with violating Article 221 (hooliganism) and Article 127 (deliberate damage to human health) of the Criminal Code.
