"The researches on uranium enrichment in Armenia do not pose any threat to the neighboring countries. Despite the fact that Armenia is situated in seismologically active area, the reactors of Atomic Power Station are quake- resistant," Adil Geribov, director of Radiation Problems Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences stated.
He said if Russian Atomic Energy Agency signs contract with Armenia on uranium enrichment in May, new atomic power station will possibly start operation in 5-6 years. ? Director of Russian Atomic Energy Agency visiting Armenia, Sergey Kirienko signed an initial agreement on construction of new reactor of Atomic Power Station. He said if Kazakhstan joins the project, Armenia will possibly become a leading state producing nuclear fuel, APA reports.
