"Customs posts in Azerbaijan-Iran border work normally as before," State Border Service's (SBS) chief Elchin Guliyev stated.
"Illegal immigration and illicit traffic of narcotics are the most serious problems for us. Operational coordination between law-enforcement bodies has given positive results, and no tense situation is observed in the border today." Elchin Guliyev also said the construction of northern division of motor-launches will be finished by 2008. According to him, State Border Service is to launch large-scale exercises in summer in the Caspian Sea with participation of all technical infrastructures. He added the process of recruiting high quality personnel for SBS is kept on going, APA reports. "Serious steps are being taken on this way. The personnel of check points are trained highly. Coastguard is working professionally." SBS will have complete high-qualified personnel by 2015.
