NATO Assessment Mission visited Baku last week. The mission appreciated Azerbaijan's activity in the framework of Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP).

Except some commitments, the reports presented by the Border Troops, Interior Ministry, Interior Troops and Defense Ministry were highly appreciated, APA reports.

NATO authorities will express position in March after discussing the report of the Assessment group.

The delayed commitments covers reforms on modernization of military aerodromes, military ships of Navy, substitution of defense minister by a civilian and reforms on Armed Forces Staff, as well as human rights in the Army.

Defense Ministry press secretary, Colonel Ramiz Malikov told that NATO representatives highly appreciated the implementation of the commitments in the framework of IPAP. He noted that NATO mission said the Defense Ministry fulfilled the terms ahead of schedule.

"NATO mission approved the reforms carried out in Azerbaijani Armed Forces and cooperation with NATO," he said.

Azerbaijani Interior Troops told the APA that NATO mission concerned itself with measures taken in the troops and the activity in the direction of establishing peacekeeping detachment.
