Azerbaijani embassy in Turkey will organize a range of events on the 15th anniversary of Khojali genocide – February 26.
A number of Turkish newspapers (Cumhuriyyet, Zaman, Hurriyet, Milliyet, Mili gezet, Bu gun, Aksham, Sabah, Turkish Daily news, Yeni Shefeq, Posta, Star, Ortadogu, Yenichag newspapers, Khalgin sesi, First Business, Kipris mektubu journals, as well as local newspapers published in Erzurum, Sivas, Chorum, Shaframbolu, Eslkesheher, Antalya and Kemer) will publish materials, interviews and photos on Khojali genocide, embassy's press secretary Gultekin Habibova told the APA. Besides, meetings will be held on Turkish channels TRT, Kanal A, Kanal TV5, STV, CNN-Turk, Avrasiya, Bashkent, Kanal7, Ulusal Kanal and Turkmeneli. Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey will give interviews, and films given to the embassy by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will also be demonstrated on the channels. Hebibli said that the embassy will deliver press-releases in Turkish and English to Turkish Foreign Ministry, foreign embassies and offices accredited in Ankara. Mourning ceremony will be held in front of the monument erected in Kechloren region (Ankara's Kechloren municipality made an official decision on the recognition of Khojali genocide on March 9 in 2005) on Khojali genocide victims. Turkish politicians, social figures will participate in the ceremony. A minute's silence will be held in memory of Khojali genocide victims. Azerbaijanis studying in military and other high schools of Turkey will also attend the ceremony. Azerbaijani students, Turkish NGOs and Azerbaijanis living in the country will organize a protest action on February 24 and appeal to Turkish parliament and the UN for the recognition of the genocide. The participants will raise posters 'One nation, two states,' 'Turk has no friend but Turk.' Mourning concert and exhibition will be organized in Bilkent, Ankara. Heads of foreign embassies and offices in Turkey, Turkish Foreign Ministry officers, Azerbaijanis, embassy officers and representatives of Turkish NGOs will participate in the ceremony.
