Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov received the delegation headed by Thomas C. Adams, Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia.

Asadov said that the cooperation between the two countries elevated to strategic partnership.

"Today Azerbaijan as the member of the coalition fighting against terrorism takes part in strengthening security in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq," he said.

While estimating the suspend application of Section 907 to Freedom Support Act, the Speaker said that the abolishment of the section will be great push for the development of the relations.

"Today our countries are cooperating in the energy production and implementation of regional economic projects. Azerbaijani side highly estimates the activity of US International Development, Trade and Development Agencies," he underlined.

Adams said that his country is interested in the cooperation with Azerbaijan in different fields.

The coordinator added they have potentials to expand the relations not only in non-oil sector, but also in humanitarian fields too.

During the meeting they have discussed the ways of expanding inter-parliamentarian relations and further development perspectives of the cooperation, MM press service told the APA.
