Chairman of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pavel Koval, January 22.

Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament noted all-round development of the relations between the two countries. Visits of the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Poland in 2004-2005, the negotiations and signed agreements in Warsaw have created solid legislative base for all-sided cooperation.

Parliaments have special role in development of interstate relations, the Speaker said.

According to him, parliamentarians of both countries hold the same position on many international questions, which promotes strengthening of bilateral relations.

Chairman of Milli Majlis informed on the economic development the Republic achieved last years, noting the great potential for expansion of economic ties between the two countries.

Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Ogtay Asadov spoke in detail of its history, the reasons and heavy sequences the conflict has caused.

Speaker noted fair position of Azerbaijan in settlement of this delayed problem, marking the peaceful efforts of the Republic for settlement of the conflict.

"The problem can be solved only peacefully and in the frame of territorial integrity of states and inviolability of borders," Asadov stressed.

Pavel Koval thanked for information provided, and said his country is keen in development of bilateral relations. At his words, an inter-parliamentary friendship group is being formed now at the Seym of Poland. AzerTAg
