"Erection of monument symbolizing Shusha's invasion is not right," said PACE Rapporteur on monitoring of cultural monuments in the South Caucasus, British MP Edward O'Hara.
Noting that the mission on culture will soon be over, O'Hara told the APA he was against the politicization of the issue of erection of the monument symbolizing Shusha's invasion. "Anyway, I will deal with the issue. The members of the monitoring group will be informed about it. I will investigate the issue on erection of this monument during our visit to Yerevan," he said. Edward O'Hara said that the mission on monitoring of cultural monuments in the South Caucasus will visit the region in spring. "We could not visit the region in autumn because of weather. Besides, the members of the mission could not reach agreement on some issues. The mission will appreciate the situation of cultural and historical monuments in Nagorno Karabakh, Nakhchivan and Armenia," he said. Yerevan Mayor's Office made a decision on erecting a monument devoted to Shusha's invasion in the center of the city.
