"Following Roman Pope Benedict XVI's anti-Islam remarks, Armenians began to use Azerbaijani historical heritage-mosque in occupied Agdam village as stable and pigsty. Other historical mosques in Nagorno Garabagh have been destroyed by Armenians," writes Iran's "Cumhuriyyi Islam" (Islamic Republic) newspaper in today's issue.
The newspaper writes quoting Iranian Intikhab news agency that the attacks on mosques are supported by Armenian lobbies in U.S., France and in other Western countries, APA reports. "Muslims refugees from Karabakh accuse Muslims of supporting Western Armenians and call for Muslim world leaders to rescue Karabakh from tyranny and violence," the paper writes. The "Cumhuriyyi Islam" also reported of the opening of new representative office of the alleged Nagorno Karabakh Republic in Washington. "The alleged republic's large campaign to make public itself to the world community caused fury of Azerbaijan and Muslims. Shiite land and the world's second Palestine-Karabakh has been under Armenia's occupation for fifteen years. Tens thousands of people become martyrs, innocent and defenseless women, children and elderly were massacred and missing as a result of this occupation. More than one million Azerbaijanis have become refugees. After the occupation, Islamic values, Shiite mosques, Susha mosque have been destroyed and substituted with churches," the newspaper underlines.
