Azerbaijan's Emergencies Minister, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov today received new Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov.

The Ministry Public Affairs Office told the APA ambassador Istratov said there are close relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, and great improvements are observed in development of bilateral relations.

The diplomat were interested in the priorities of the newly established Ministry of Emergency Situations, the implemented measures as well as the prospects of the relations between relevant bodies of Azerbaijan and Russia and the implementation of the Complex Action Plan on cooperation in 2006-2008 that was recently signed between Azerbaijani and Russian Emergencies Ministry in Baku.

Minister Heydarov introduced the priorities of the Ministry established by the executive order of President Aliyev stressing that Russian experience is being applied in the forming of the system.

Reminding his visit to Russia as a Minister and his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoygu's visit to Azerbaijan, Mr.Heydarov said the mutual visits aim to enhance the cooperation.
As coming to the complex action plan signed with Russian Ministry, Heydarov said the document envisages training specilaists, exchange of information, bringing rescue facilities as well as aviation to prevent ecological fires to Azerbaijan and other important issues.

He also stressed close relations have been established with the Russian side on the very days and touched on the importance of cooperation to prevent emergency situations.
