Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Indonesia Ibrahim Hajiyev met here with Ministers Purnomo Yusgiantoro of Energy and Natural Resources and Fahmi Idris of Industry to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
He presented them Azerbaijan-prepared draft Agreement on principles of cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Indonesia in the fields of energy and industry. The Ambassador provided the Indonesian Ministers with detailed information about the domestic and foreign policy being pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, ongoing reforms in the country, and realization of the Azerbaijan-led large-scale energy and transport projects. He also informed them on the situation over the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and expressed gratitude to the Indonesian side for support of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Ministers Yusgiantoro and Idris welcomed the opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Indonesia, and emphasized their readiness to cooperation. They promised to consider the draft agreement prepared by the Azerbaijani side, and suggested organization of a meeting between the two countries' businessmen. In turn, the Ambassador informed the Ministers that issue of holding the business forum has already been agreed with the Indonesian Chamber of Trade and Industry. Minister Yusgiantoro suggested establishment of cooperation between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and “Pertamina”, the State Oil Company of Indonesia. He especially noted that 10 specialists, who one studied oil and gas engineering in Azerbaijan, are now contributing to development of oil industry in Indonesia, AzerTAg reports.
