Just the other day, Nikol Pashinyan reported on Armenia's unprecedented "tolerance" at the religious freedom summit, when a video clip appeared on social networks, taken from a travel report about a trip to Yerevan by one of the Russian bloggers.

The blogger and his companions visited the oldest district of present-day Yerevan, Tepebashi. After the transfer of the city of Irevan to the Armenian capital in 1918, Tepebashi turned into Kond. The name "Kond" is practically a tracing paper from the historical name Tepebashi, meaning "top of the hill". The area is historically located on a hill, hence the name.

A walk through Tepebashi led the blogger and his colleagues to the ruins of the mosque. After the expulsion of the Azerbaijani population from Yerevan, Armenians settled in this ancient area, which was once built by Azerbaijanis. They also inhabited the destroyed mosque. Over the years, without the true owners, the building collapsed almost completely, to which the local population also made efforts. In the preserved premises, an enterprising uncle opened a restaurant for himself, hung the ruins with pictures, like telling about history, well, according to all the rules of a tourist destination. The story is told not only by the pictures, but also by the uncle himself.

The "guide" took the bloggers through the ruins of Tepebashi, told an Armenian tale about the history of this settlement and the local mosque. The only truth in his story was that the mosque was built five hundred years ago. That is how old the Azerbaijani city, now called Yerevan, is in reality. At the same time, the Irevan fortress was built not by the Persian, but by the Azerbaijani Khan.

The most unpleasant thing about this plot is not even the historical insinuations of an Armenian, or even hashlama and dolma, which are served there under the guise of "ancient Armenian" dishes. The most unpleasant thing about the plot is that alcoholic beverages were drunk with gusto and ostentatiously under the arches of the mosque. We are not hypocrites, but there are some nuances that should be treated more carefully. If the Armenian and his guests did not know that they were under the arches of the destroyed mosque, it would be another matter. But they know and deliberately desecrate the shrine, which is already tormented by outsiders. It looks very unpleasant, including the behavior and remarks of the author of the video.
