Mr. Harnish took the duty of Ambassador in summer, 2003. As he has been appointed to the high position in the US Department of State, he had to end his diplomatic mission several months earlier.

In his speech in the recent press conference, the diplomat called the years spent in Azerbaijan wonderful and fruitful. Mrs. Leslie Harnish said she was happy to help disabled children in Azerbaijan.

Mr.Harnish will take up his new duty after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ends his visit to Washington. New US Ambassador Ms. Anne Derse will arrive in summer.
