Landmine terrorism perpetrated by Armenia against Azerbaijan causes the loss of life or injury of Azerbaijani servicemen and civilians, at the same time, it slows down the return of former IDPs to their native lands, creates an obstacle to the activities of business entities, and the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the region. The planting of mines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and the failure to provide accurate maps of mined areas are a clear demonstration of Armenia's disrespect for the norms and principles of international law and international humanitarian law. “As the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I call on the relevant international organizations to take decisive steps to stop the mine terrorism of Armenia and to hand over to our country accurate maps of mines buried in our territories freed from occupation,” Azerbaijan’s Ombudswoman stated. ecocide crimes and call her to demonstrate a neutral stand," she said.
