On Monday the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee held a meeting on the results of 2005.

During some complex measures taken in 2005 SCC transferred 1,881trln manats (376.2m AZN) to the public budget against forecasted 1.75trln manats (350m AZN), Trend reports referring to a press release spread by SCC. "Real figures exceed forecast for 2005 by 7.5%, 2004 – 44.3% (577,5bn manats or 115,5m AZN)," Kamalladin Heydarov, the chairman of SCC, said.

According to Heydarov, in 2005 SCC registered 5,526 violations, or 2,942 more as compared 2004. 154 facts were of criminal character. 146 people were detained as suspect. 78 of them are Azerbaijani citizens, 67 – foreigners and one without citizenship.

Over this period SCC seized 13,235 kg gold, 68.2 kg silver, 30 carats of diamonds, $50,810 and 432,000 roubles. During the operations, carried out in cooperation with other law-enforcement bodies, they registered 65 facts on illegal drug traffic.

In 2005 the work of statistics automatic customs information system was improved.
